What is Monkey Bread?
In the savannas of the African and Indian equator, monkey bread is the sweet fruit of the Baobab tree. The Baobab's barrel-like trunk may reach a diameter of 30 ft and a height of 80 feet. This magnificent tree is sometimes called the "Tree of Life" due to its many uses. The bark is used for cloth and rope, the leaves for condiments and medicines and the fruit (also known as Monkey Bread), is eaten.

Grandma Mercy's Recipe
Mercy sold her homemade Monkey Bread at our church in Los Angeles for fundraising purposes and it didn't take long for the congregation to become addicted. The overwhelming response led to countless bread orders. Although my granny-ma's recipe doesn't include Baobab fruit, she baked it with a whole bunch of love.

Mercy's Homemade Monkey BreadTM gives one the feeling of warmth and comfort that are associated with family and happiness. It's great any time of the day. Served warm it is the perfect compliment to chicken, turkey, ham, roast beef, pasta and soup.
